Hey there! This is just a blog for my swap partners at Craftster to get to know me a little better...if they really want to.

Name: Lisa (#1 girl name for 1970 and I knew 7 others growing up)

Age: 40

Location: Cincinnati, Ohio in the USA

Work: I work part time at a clothing retailer that sells children's clothing. I don't particularly like the company (I do like my co-workers) so I'm not going to give them any free publicity by naming them.

School: I am going back to school in March! I'm really excited about it! I'll be attending Raymond Walters College (a University of Cinicinnati school) for a degree in Radiologic Technology. Then I'll be an x-ray tech! Yay!

Family: I am happily married and have 2 children, a 5 yo boy genius and a 3 yo girliegirl. I also have a ki-kitty named Sugar. She's 14 years old and I have a hard time falling asleep if she's not curled up next to my head.

Crafts I do in no particular order:

  • crochet
  • sewing
  • polymer clay and paper clay
  • woodburning
  • a little jewelry (but I don't wear any)
  • knitting (but I won't make you anything knitted. I'm very, very slow since I'm very new to this)
  • painting (acrylic, watercolor, oil, ect.)
  • photography
  • embroidery (regular and punch needle)
  • altered... whatever

  • Colors I love:

GREENS - pretty much any shade
    Reds
    Yellows
    Browns
Oranges (the earthier kind, not the neon kind)
Blues (especially the more muted shades)

    Colors I'm not fond of:
I don't hate any color but I'm not particularly fond of purples. My husband doesn't care for them either so I really try to avoid purples especially for anything decorative for our home. Also, I don't like neon or unnatural shades of any color.

    I love to look at:

  • Shaker - very clean and simple styles
  • Adsel Adams' photography
  • Van Gogh's works
  • anything by Monet
  • Silhouettes - especially of birds, trees, and children
  • Black and White photography, especially landscapes
  • Leaves
  • Trees
  • Dragonflies
  • Red foxes (a new obsession)
  • Flowers
  • Birds
  • Grasses
  • Mushrooms
  • Botanical and nature illustrations

  • Things I'm learning or want to learn:

    • To play guitar
    • To tat (shuttle tat)
    • To spin (I have some fiber and a drop spindle)
    • To weave

I can't think of much else to say right now... I'm sure I'll add more as time passes.
